Vw camper essex
They have a cozy couch in the lobby and are within walking distance of a hostel and "downtown" West Asheville (shops, food, drink, etc.).I've had a great experience with them 9 out of 10 times, and the time it wasn't we worked it out later :)Shop Rating: Above Average Recommended Report Date: Write a Review for this shop Anonymous writes: I have no complaints put a new engine in my 73 vw. After giving me an estimate of 0 for repair that he said would take two days, he would not return my calls for 5 weeks.High priced paint jobs are usually done in a more professinonal setting inside a paint booth not in pole barns.I also saw one of his buddys cars that was painted with some kind of paint that you roll on with a house style paint roller.I tried to tell them that I could not afford that and they went on to say I would still owe the labor cost of 0.00 if they removed the part. Also I asked about buying a used steel wheel (no tire or hubcap) and the owner Keith Mitchell was playing me to get the most money he could out of me by saying "well what would you pay for it" and if I was to low in price, he would say "oh, it's worth more than that and stating what someone else paid for an item last week, which was an ridiculous amount of 0.00 and in return asking then what I would pay for the part, but he would not tell me a fair price, I really wanted to get a used replacement part so after agreeing with him on an outrageous price for the item he had his helper go and take the wheel off a wrecked car, they brought the wheel up and took it to my car to put in the trunk, as the helper was passing me by I noticed the wheel was damaged and was not the wheel that we had just looked at, I mentioned it to Keith and he insisted it was ok, To me the wheel looked just as bad as the wheel that was already on my car!
They offer free 30 minute diagnostics and have been great about communication before, during and after the work.Dave has a scientist/engineer mind when it comes to cars (or maybe doctor's?) and is happy to explain all the details of how they work (or what's not working and why), if the customer wants to know.I agreed and drove down there, then, after they had finished installing the part 15 minutes total, I went to pay and they told me my bill was 0.00 total! And that if I didn't pay they would keep my car until I had.
